The SCU Commencement Programs digital collection provides access to commencement programs from the years 1934 to 2013. These include programs from the university as a whole and, starting in 1975, as divided by Undergraduate, Graduate, and Law ceremonies. Programs are viewable as PDF files. Users can search within text to locate specific names or dates.

Santa Clara University Commencement & Baccalaureate Mass Records Collection

The Santa Clara University Commencement & Baccalaureate Mass Records, 1852-2009, document the university’s annual commencement ceremony, the Baccalaureate Mass, and undergraduate and graduate receptions. In addition to the traditional commencement ceremony, the Baccalaureate Mass is a celebration for students of all faiths, their families, and friends, and is a time to give thanks for the gifts given and received while at the university. The records consist of audiovisual materials, Baccalaureate Mass programs, ceremony events, commencement programs, commencement speaker’s speeches, event planning materials, instructions for officiating and speaking at the ceremonies, media releases, newspaper clippings, valedictorian speeches, and welcome speeches.

 

Series I: Commencement Programs & Related Materials, 1852-2009

This series documents Santa Clara University’s commencement ceremonies over a 157-year period. The series includes commencement programs, commencement announcements in various periodicals, commencement speakers and speeches, honors awards lists, invitations, a leather-bound 1935 program, memorandum about commencement to faculty, and valedictorian addresses.
